City of Burlington creates website with a full list of COVID-19 community resources

During a time when everyone wants the latest information, the City of Burlington has developed a website that lists all of the community resources available to those impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.

The website provides residents with information on resources and organizations that are offering help.

Links are provided to non-profit organizations that are looking for volunteers, accepting donations, providing support, offering grants and funding, and giving mental health and wellness support.

Businesses that are offering support – or are in need of support – are encouraged to contact Team Burlington, a group of representatives from the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, Burlington Downtown Business Association, Burlington Economic Development, Aldershot Village BIA, and Tourism Burlington.

Local non-profit organizations can also sign up to be included on the website by filling out the online form. Some organizations already involved include the Burlington Food Bank, Canadian Blood Services, and the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation.

Cases of COVID-19 have been on a steady rise since the virus started to grip Ontario. As of May 1st, Burlington has 93 positive coronavirus cases.

Burlington has also been in the news this week with a local Lowe’s employee and Walmart employee testing positive for the virus. The Halton region also exceeded 500 cases earlier this week.
