23. Pat Daly: Education Advocate

A champion for Catholic education, Patrick J. Daly has spent the past three decades serving the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board and sup- porting the Hamilton community. Patrick is an outstanding role model who’s deeply committed to his family, his faith, and helping all children gain access to quality education, with particular attention to children facing barriers whether it be poverty, special needs, or those marginalized in any way.

Patrick is a firm believer that quality education and the support of families can eliminate the cycle of poverty in Hamilton. He is a valued contributor to the Hamilton Community Foundation and speaks most respectfully of all — teachers, educational assistants, secretaries, custodians, volunteers, and stakeholders — whose vocation is to increase opportunities for children to succeed. On any given day, Patrick can be seen fundraising to improve educational facilities, partnering with community agen- cies to deliver enhanced programming, and ensuring resources are distributed equally. He does not shy away from a challenge and is most conscientious in ensuring fis- cal responsibility, while always maintaining the best interest of the students.

A quality most to be admired in Patrick is his humble nature. He is very passionate about the Catholic education system and never seeks any personal recognition for his work.
