A Hamilton law firm is offering free will planning for essential workers during COVID-19

In support of Hamiltonians still putting themselves at daily risk during COVID-19, a local law firm is offering will and power-of-attorney planning services pro-bono for the city’s essential frontline workers.

Findlay Law is heading the initiative, which was started by lawyer Sara Auld and is now being facilitated by Auld and 20 other lawyers across Ontario who are volunteering their time and services to frontline workers looking for the peace of mind of a plan in place as they continue putting themselves front-and-centre amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The services, which are not ones typically provided by Findlay Law, have already been accessed by 20 families since this past Tuesday, with many of the clients being people between 20 and 40 years old with children. The law firm is sure that demand will only increase as the pandemic continues to develop.

The increase in need for these services isn’t limited just to healthcare workers, either; many law firms across Ontario are seeing large upticks in clients looking to arrange their wills in the midst of COVID-19, with the perspective this pandemic is putting on peoples’ mortality.

Currently, Ontario has seen a total 9,525 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 4,556 of those cases resolved and 478 deaths.
