If you want to enjoy a movie under the stars – totally free of charge – you’ll want to check out the special pop-up drive-in movie theatre that’s coming to Hamilton.
For one night only on Friday, June 10th, grocery chain Metro is hosting what they call ‘Metro Retro Drive-In Movies’ to show a classic flick in the parking lot of the Metro location at 1161 Barton Street East.
A fun event tonight, catching the @MetroOntario Retro Drive-in movie event. Thanks to @INTERAC and Metro for a great experience.🍿🥤🎞#IAmTipTap #Community #Giving pic.twitter.com/BKUjETcq2V

The 1996 family favourite Matilda is set for the Hamilton screening, and locals can register their vehicle for free via the Metro website to claim their spot as well as some free snacks.
Two screenings are scheduled, with a sold-out showing at 9:30 pm and a second screening at 11:30 pm that currently has some available spots left.
For this free and family-friendly event, Metro is also accepting donation to Mission Services, and the grocery chain has committed to matching the donations up to $5,000.
Check out more details and register for the screening on the Metro website.
