A popular fried chicken chain is opening its first location in Hamilton

Between chains and independent food spots, Hamilton has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to fried chicken.

Nonetheless, the city is about to get even more of the indulgent dish with the arrival of a chain restaurant’s first-ever Hamilton location.

Church’s Chicken – the American fast food chain that holds strong among the likes of popular spots like KFC and Popeye’s – will soon be arriving in Hamilton’s Jackson Square Mall, indicated by signage facing King Street and close to the corner of King and James.

Originally founded in San Antonio, Texas almost 70 years ago, Church’s Chicken is known for its fried chicken platters, chicken tenders, sandwiches, wraps, and sides like fries, mashed potatoes, jalapeño poppers, onion rings, and honey butter biscuits.

Church’s already has quite a few locations across Ontario, with many concentrated in the Greater Toronto Area; however, a location has yet to arrive here in Hamilton until now.

Details about an opening date are still unknown, but there will undoubtedly be fried chicken fans keeping their eyes on Jackson Square in the weeks and months to come.

Check out the Church’s Chicken website for menus and more.
