Banksy coming to Collective Arts’ Liquid Art Festival

Clear your calendars Hamilton because Banksy is coming to town. Well, his art is anyway.

While Banksy keeps a low profile on his whereabouts, one of his pieces will be on display at Collective Arts’ upcoming Liquid Art Festival.

From Friday, June 15th to Saturday, June 16th you’ll be able to view Banksy’s Haight Street Rat.

Haight Street Rat is one of Banksy’s many creations painted during a 2010 visit to San Francisco. One by one, the pieces from this trip began to be defaced or painted over. Not wanting to see another Banksy original destroyed, Art conservator Brian Greif stepped in to save the stencil of the giant rat.

Through a magnificent amount of hard work, Greif was able to have the painting professionally lifted and preserved. Haight Street Rat now travels around the world, serving as a vehicle to showcase the cultural impact of street art and to educate people on how street art is made for public consumption.

Having Banksy’s Haight Street Rat on display at Liquid Art Festival is extremely fitting for the occasion. Liquid Art Festival is a celebration of all different kinds of art. Crafting beer is an art, music is art, and the beautiful artwork that is displayed on each and every can of Collective Arts’ craft beer is art.

If you want to celebrate art and view an original Banksy piece, come on out to Liquid Art Festival this June. Advance tickets are now available.

Will you be attending Liquid Art Festival? What constitutes art for you? Let us know in the comments.
