Barton Street sweet shop has closed its doors

A cute little Hamilton shop for candy, handmade cookies, and more has closed its doors. 

Hello Baked, located at the corner of Barton Street East and Emerald Street, initially opened five years ago in 2017 and quickly amassed popularity, even earning a hefty following of nearly 30,000 on Instagram for their aesthetically pleasing sweet treats. 

The shop’s curated candies and fresh sugar cookies were almost too pretty to eat, and were both an excellent gift idea and a lovely way to treat yourself to something special. 

However, after five successful years in the Barton Street retail shop, Hello Baked has closed their brick & mortar location, with their final day on December 23rd, 2022. 

“I’ve had the most wonderful experiences with you as customers. You’re thoughtful, kind, creative people who’ve made this experience so fun over the years,” wrote Hello Baked owner Jessica Lee on social media. 

“You’ve supported in myriad ways – in the shop, at pop-ups, online, with collaborations and events, or even just swinging by to say ‘hello’ – and I am so grateful to each and every one of you. I couldn’t have asked for a better community!” 

What happens next for Hello Baked as a local business remains to be seen, but Lee expresses her plans to recharge for the time being and return with updates at a later date.
