Beloved burger spot in Hamilton is closing its doors

A spot in Hamilton known for its towering, creatively topped burgers and more has announced that it is permanently closing its doors.

Curbside Grill – also known as Curbside Burgers – has been serving Hamilton for 7 years, starting as a food truck before taking over a brick & mortar location on Ottawa Street North, and moving to a new location at 1127 King Street East a little over a year ago.

Their menu of pub-style comfort foods included shareable apps like spinach dip, poutine, bruschetta, and nachos as well as a variety of signature burgers like The Jacob, with cheddar, bacon, and dusted onions; or The Reuben, dressed with smoked brisket, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut.

Sadly, after years of cultivating a loyal customer base and recently establishing fresh roots on King Street East, Curbside Grill has shared the news that they will be closing up shop on May 29th.

“We are grateful we got to meet many great people and be part of so many great events in Hamilton,” wrote the restaurant’s owner Randy Gallant on social media.

“I just wanted to take a shot at my dream and do the one thing I waited 30 years to do. So one food truck and 2 restaurant locations later, I can honestly say I tried my very best.”

It’s clear that hard work and dedication paid off; Curbside Grill was a well-loved local spot with devoted patrons, and it will undoubtedly be missed as a piece of Hamilton’s food scene.

Visit Curbside Grill one last time before May 29th, and see more on their social media.
