Beloved shop for baby clothing closing in Hamilton

It’s always sad to see a Hamilton small business close up shop, and a beloved baby store in the city just announced its plans to say goodbye.

Barefoot Babies – located at 164 Ottawa Street North in the Crown Point neighbourhood – has shared news that they will be closing their storefront by the end of the summer after nearly 14 years in business.

“So much has changed for retail and in the baby world over the last few years, and keeping up with it all is a marathon we can no longer run,” wrote Barefoot Babies in a post on social media.

The adorable shop has become a local fixture for baby wares of all sorts, from clothing to carriers to to toys to accessories and well beyond. They are also known for regularly hosting community community events including drop-in playgroups, breastfeeding social groups, and special sales.

Barefoot Babies has expressed that they’d like to go out on a high note for their last summer in business, so expect plenty of final events, sales, drop-in programs, and more.
