If you see a rainbow-coloured bicycle in Hamilton with a trolley of ice cream treats in tow, make sure you stop by for a taste!
That’s a new local business called Real Fruity Ice Cream: an ice cream shop on a bicycle that serves New Zealand-style real fruit ice cream, which blends tasty ice cream with frozen fruit.
Visitors to Real Fruity can choose their base ice cream or frozen yogurt (including a dairy-free option), then select a variety of fruits to mix in and have it served on a cone or in a cup.
The delicious idea was dreamed up by Hamilton entrepreneur Jacob Koenig, who pursued his desire to make a mark in the world hospitality after discovering real fruit ice cream in his travels.
The dream has now grown into a full-blown business, with Koenig rolling up in his eye-catching bicycle to events all around Hamilton, including popping up recently at Art Crawls and landing every Wednesday this summer at Churchill Park in Westdale.
It’s exciting to see a creative new small business appear in Hamilton, so give them a follow at @realfruityicecream to stay updated!
