Heads up, drivers: at long last, the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge has reopened for vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
The bridge has been closed since the beginning of January to allow crews the time and space for some construction and maintenance work.

For nearly three months, the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge has been inaccessible to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians, with signage in place indicating temporary alternative routes.
Thankfully, reopening has happened right on schedule; the closure was originally slated to end as of March 20th, pending any possible delays.
The work completed on the bridge includes a replacement of its deck and widening the pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.
