Get ready to gain one more luxurious hour of sleep this weekend as Daylight Saving Time ends in Hamilton and beyond.
Make sure you set your clocks back one hour as of 2 am on Sunday, November 3rd, formally ending Daylight Saving Time for 2024.
Each year, Daylight Saving Time – which begins in the spring and ends in fall – is intended to help save energy and get more use out of daytime sunlight in the summertime by shifting the hour of the day so darkness falls at a later time.
Stay safe when the clocks change. The winter season means fewer daylight hours and reduced visibility for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. Stay safe. Stay alert. https://t.co/sZEZemGsPl pic.twitter.com/ehkekT9J1e

Though there have been numerous discussions about ending the practice of Daylight Saving Time in certain regions, it remains active to this day since being established as a concept by Benjamin Franklin in 1784.
Daylight Saving Time began for 2024 on Sunday, March 10th, when individuals lost an hour of sleep due to the clocks jumping forward.
The next Daylight Saving Time period for 2025 will begin on Sunday, March 9th and end on Sunday, November 2nd.
