Delicious Hamilton spot for soft serve ice cream is closing its doors

A Hamilton gem for delicious soft serve ice cream, chocolates, candy, and more has announced that it has closed its doors.

La Crème de la Crème Creamery, located at 170 Locke Street South, announced via social media that they have closed up shop effective immediately.

The sweet shop opened its doors on Locke back in Fall of 2020, building on the success of its flagship location in Burlington; and the owners of La Crème de la Crème emphasize that closing the Hamilton location comes out of a desire to refocus their energies.

“We are a family run business and striking that balance was why we began this adventure,” wrote La Crème de la Crème Creamery on Instagram.

“The last few years between this new store, other ventures and continuing to define what our future looks like, this was getting lost. Our lease was coming due so we took the opportunity to take back our time.”

Though it’s sad to see this spot leave Hamilton – they even made our 2022 list of the best ice cream spots in the city – locals can still go get their fix of customizable, house-made soft serve ice cream at La Crème de la Crème’s original location, which remains open at 389 John Street in Burlington.
