Employee at McDonald’s on Rymal Road tests positive for COVID-19

A worker at the McDonald’s location on Rymal Road East has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement from the company.

The employee, who works at the McDonald’s location at the corner of Rymal Road East and Upper James, officially tested positive over the weekend on September 5th, prompting the location to temporarily close its doors for a third-party cleaning and sanitation procedure.

The infected employee, who last worked at the location on August 31st from 7 pm to 12 am, is currently self-isolating; as are fellow employees who may have come into contact and been exposed.

This particular McDonald’s location was also the notable site of a reported COVID-19 case earlier this year that was later found to be fabricated, when an 18 year-old employee presented a forged doctor’s note fraudulently stating that they were COVID-19 positive.

The fake positive case prompted the location to shut down, send all employees home to self-isolate, and execute a deep cleaning of the facility.
