As the crisp autumn weather arrives and locals plan their hikes among the fall foliage, some of Hamilton’s most popular hiking trails and waterfalls will be available by reservation only at peak times.
Spencer Gorge Conservation Area – which features the Dundas Peak, Tews Falls, and Webster’s Falls – will be opening for online reservations beginning on Saturday, September 17th due to high demand.
From that day onward through to the end of October – coinciding with peak fall colours – all dates and times for hikes at any Spencer Gorge spaces will need to be booked in advance, granting visitors a 2-hour timeslot for their hiking and sight-seeing.

There will be two hiking options available to be booked: the Dundas Peak and Tews Falls experience, or the separate Webster’s Falls hike experience.
No walk-up, drive-up, or same day reservations will be permitted, and even members of the Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) will be required to make a reservation in order to access Spencer Gorge this fall.
Reservation fees are $10, and there’s also a per vehicle fee of $10.50 and a per person fee of $5 for all visitors over the age of 6. HCA members only need to pay the reservation fee.
