Hamilton’s Wentworth Sports Complex is the victim of a substantial fire that has caused over $1 million in damages.
Hamilton Fire responded to the incident at 2100 Main Street West the morning of September 30th after a fire that started from a Zamboni spread through the triple rink sports complex, causing significant damage and a collapsed roof.
The sports complex is temporarily closed while damage is assessed and a contingency plan is formed.
“We would like to thank the more than 50 fire fighters who worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire and save the building,” wrote Wentworth Sports Complex in a post on social media.
“We would also like to express our appreciation for the many well wishes we have received from our community, customers and friends. We have an amazing team and are confident we will return stronger than ever.”
