Transformative renovations at Copps Pier – Hamilton’s Pier 8 waterfront public space – have recently been completed, and the occasion is being marked with a special grand opening celebration this weekend.
Pop-Ups at Pier 8 shared the news on social media that the grand opening festivities will take place on Saturday, June 18th beginning at 10 am with family activities, food, live music, interactive art pieces, and much more.
Copps Pier Park on Pier 8 is finally open. Feels very different than Bayfront. Hard edged and industrial, but striking. Big expanses of the harbour, but also flour mills, steel mills and the HMCS Haid#hamont#Coppspierpark#pier8#hamiltonharbour#bayfront#waterfront pic.twitter.com/r39thohGAq

The free family programming from 10 am to 2 pm will consist of sand art along the beach and live caricatures drawn by artist Cartoon Bob. A live performance by musician Dan Edmonds will kick off at noon on the new Gantry Stage.
A scavenger hunt will encourage visitors to explore the new Pier 8 space in detail; interactive art pieces by Tandeka Williams will be on hand to admire; and delicious food will be provided by vendors like Get Your Own Taters, Mamey, and Pinch.
If you haven’t had a chance to explore everything the new Pier 8 has to offer, this is the perfect opportunity to pay a visit! Check it out this Saturday, June 18th starting at 10 am!
