The gritLIT reading and writing festival is a great way to explore your interests within the field of literature!
The event holds many educational and experiential opportunities that will run from April 19th to 23rd, both online and in-person.
Virtual events consist of panels and interviews with famous writers that will be sharing their stories about the work they have done.
Some of the writers featured in the virtual events include Jen Sookfong Lee discussing pop culture, Jessica John sharing one of her new debuts, Rivka Galchen and Harrison Mooney discussing novels that “define us”, as well as Catherine Hernandez and Reema Patel discussing women in society.
Another interesting thing you can join in on virtually is the announcement of a contest winner! January Rogers will be virtually announcing the selected winners of the 2023 gritLIT short story contest.
The in-person events will take place at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Hamilton, which is located on 40 Bay Street South.
Events that will be taking place in-person include Hamilton Writes, which gives you the chance to grab a drink or snack and listen to local authors, and the gritLIT Youth Team will be hosting an event on romance fiction as they welcome romance writers Jenny Holiday and Farah Heron.
For more information on the event, you can visit the gritLIT website and view the program.
