Hamilton bakery for cream pies closes its doors

A Hamilton bakery known for handmade cream pies and other indulgent treats has sadly closed its doors. 

Mikey’s Cream Pies first opened at 775 Barton Street East in 2021, with owner Mike Jensen turning his passion for baking into a small business.

The offerings included multiple flavours of light and fluffy cream pies as well as other desserts like cookies, butter tarts, specialty pies, loaves, and feature treats.

However, after a few years of trying to make it work on the Barton strip and some other potential closure scares over time, Mikey’s Cream Pies is finally saying goodbye to their current storefront, effective immediately. 

“We will come back at some point, in some way, in some form,” said Jensen in a video posted to social media. “Barton Street wasn’t working for us.”
