Hamilton breweries win big at 2024 Canadian Brewing Awards

Two terrific Hamilton breweries did the city proud by taking home multiple honours at the 2024 Canadian Brewing Awards.
Each year, a nationwide competition sees craft breweries from across Canada bring their best beers to be blind-tasted by a panel of jurors, who then determine the best entries in a wide variety of beer styles.
Hamilton’s own MERIT Brewing and Clifford Brewing were present at the 2024 competition, and each brewery came home with awards in hand for their standout beer.
MERIT Brewing, located at 107 James Street North, received two honours. They received Silver in the category of Belgian-style Brett beer for Wild Years, a Brett saison with peaches and Muscat Grapes; and Bronze in the Experimental Beer category for Happy Place, a Cab Franc skin & vine saison.
Clifford Brewing, located at 398 Nash Road, was also a double winner. They earned Bronze in the Belgian-style pale ale category for their Marigold Belgian golden, and they took home the top prize of Gold in the European-style amber lager category for their Chain Link Vienna lager.
