Hamilton Chamber of Commerce announces business award nominees

The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is once again recognizing excellence in business with its 2023 Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OOBA). 

The 2023 list of finalists was recently announced by the Chamber, with CORE Entertainment and Oakridge Landscape Contractors Ltd shortlisted in the Large Business category; Acorn Counselling, Gala Bakery, and Guest Plumbing & HVAC in the Mid-Size Business category; and Birmingham Consulting, Electric Diner, and Love My Mat Yoga in the Small Business category. 

The shortlisted not-for-profit organizations this year include Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton, and Shalem Mental Health Network; and nominees for the YEP Award recognizing entrepreneurs under 40 include Vanessa Green of Greenlight Content, Ryan Moran of Locke & King, and Dr. Spencer Stevenson of Stevenson Health and Wellness. 

Sun Life and Canada Life will both be receiving Century Awards celebrating over 100 years in business; Carole MacVicar is being honoured with Citizen of the Year; and PJ Mercanti of Carmen’s Group will receive the award for Hamilton CEO of the Year. 

“Congratulations to each of the businesses that have been selected as finalists for this year’s Outstanding Business Achievement Awards,” said Greg Dunnett, President & CEO of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. 

“These businesses embody the entrepreneurial spirit, hard work, and dedication that drive our local economy forward. We are honoured to shine a spotlight on their achievements and recognize the impact they have on our local economy.”
