Heads up, drivers: a prime portion of one of Hamilton’s major streets will be closed for a month, affecting downtown traffic.
Beginning Monday, September 30th and lasting until Thursday, October 31st, lanes on James Street between Main and King will be closed to traffic temporarily.
The closure time will be used to complete numerous maintenance tasks including road resurfacing, geometric modification, and improvements to traffic signals.

Drivers and commuters who frequent this area of Hamilton can expect delays and are advised to plan alternate routes until the patch of James Street reopens at the end of October.
