Hamilton coffee shop is closing after 10 years

A Hamilton coffee shop known for its espresso drinks, café bites, and more has sadly announced that it is closing its doors after nearly a decade in business.

Ark and Anchor Espresso Bar has been located at 300 King Street West near Queen Street for almost ten years, matching its tasty food & drink menu with a comfortable two-level café space.

Visitors could expect all the usual suspects on the beverage menu from lattes to mochas to Americanos and beyond alongside loose-leaf teas, matcha lattes, and hot chocolate.

Those drinks have been met with bites like sweet and savoury pastries, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, soups, and avocado toasts.

Now, after a sturdy run in Hamilton’s café scene, Ark and Anchor has shared the sad news that they plan to permanently close up shop this coming spring,

“This decision has been a long time coming, but we are confident it is the right choice for us,” says Ark and Anchor in a post on social media.

“Thank you to all our amazing staff, wonderful regulars, and the community of small business owners we have had the privilege of getting to know.”

The café requests that locals who pay a visit in the coming weeks respect the staff’s privacy during this transition period. A firmer closing date has not yet been announced.
