A city-wide celebration of the Hammer and its small businesses will soon be returning for 2024.
Hamilton Day will be back this year from November 1st-3rd 2024 for another fantastic weekend of family-friendly fun!
The current iteration of Hamilton Day was launched in 2021 in response to the pandemic and its effects on the local community and economy.
However, the first Hamilton Day was held in 1931 during the depths of the Great Depression to boost spirits and the local economy.
After 90 years, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce decided to resurrect Hamilton Day and it became so popular that it is now an annual tradition!
Last year’s Hamilton Day was the largest yet with thousands of Hamiltonians and visitors hitting the streets for a weekend of shopping, dining, and entertainment across the city with over a thousand participating businesses.
The weekend was so successful that Hamilton Day won 4 awards: Top 100 Event in Ontario, Best Social Media Campaign, and Best Promotional Campaign from Festival & Events Ontario as well as the Innovative New Experience Award from the Hamilton Halton Brant Regional Tourism Association.
Kick-off events for Hamilton Day 2024 on November 1st include a free concert at the Central Library’s Hamilton Room put on by Mohawk College’s classical major students at noon and a ticketed concert with The Dirty Nil and Mile End at New Vision United Church at 8pm.

Hamilton residents are encouraged to spend Hamilton Day hitting up all their favourite local shops, makers, restaurants, and small businesses to show them some extra love.
