Hamilton fine dining spot is closing its doors, reopening as casual bar

A Hamilton restaurant known for its elevated French and Canadian cuisine is closing its doors and starting fresh.
Bon Temps, located at 61 Young Street, has been headed by Chef Dave Fauteux since opening its doors five years ago in April of 2019, quickly becoming a local gem for fine food, wine, and cocktails.
However, after years of serving standout, French-inspired bistro fare, Fauteux has sadly announced that Bon Temps will be hosting its final service on August 11th, 2024.
“There are many reasons behind this decision, but the most important one is that I would like to simplify life and start a new chapter which puts my family and me first,” wrote Fauteux in a post on Instagram.
However, with one door closing, another will soon open: Fauteux plans to keep the space at 61 Young Street alive as a more casual neighbourhood bar with thoughtful cocktails, beer, and snacks.
A name and opening timeline for the new establishment hasn’t been shared yet, but locals can follow Bon Temps on social media to stay updated!
