Well it was good while it lasted. After being the warmest place in Canada yesterday, Mother Nature is quickly balancing the scale on Hamilton by dumping an estimated 15 to 30 cm of snow tonight.
What will start off as rain this afternoon will quickly turn to snow as northeasterly winds will pull in colder air from the north. This’ll result in the rain quickly changing to snow by the evening.
The snow will be pounding Hamilton hard overnight and won’t taper off until tomorrow morning.
Winds are expecting to gust as high as 70 km/h.
From record breaking warmth, to the most lion-like roar into March, Thursday's heavy snow serves as a powerful reminder that winter is still fully in charge in southern Ontario. As is always the case with these types of storms, please drive safely and if you can avoid going out tonight, please do so.
