One of Hamilton’s hidden gems for flavourful, satisfying Mexican eats has announced a forthcoming move to a new location.
Maria’s Tortas Jalisco has become somewhat of a local destination at its original location at 432 Highway 8 in Stoney Creek, known for its incredible and authentic Mexican-style tacos, burritos, tamales, birria, and much more.
One of the best things about hiking the TO stretch of the Bruce Trail is being able to stop at some of my favourite Burlington and Hamilton restaurants that I haven’t been to since before the pandemic. This week it was papas asada and a chimichanga from Maria’s Tortas Jalisco. pic.twitter.com/l2hHP6uGOy

However, the beloved food spot has set its sights on a fresh home elsewhere in town, leaving behind its flagship location to take over a storefront they say is larger and better equipped to serve their growing customer base.
“We are not able to say just yet when we will be open at our new location but we promise as soon as we can guarantee the day, we will post it!!” wrote Maria’s Tortas Jalisco on social media.
“And know that we are all working hard to make it happen as fast as we can.”
Though firm details about the address of the new location and an opening date are still to come, the restaurant has confirmed that they will be remaining in the Stoney Creek community with their popular menu of Mexican street eats.
