“Exposure to cold weather can be harmful to your health. Wind always makes it feel colder and increases the risk of frostbite and hypothermia,” reads a release from the City.
“During extreme cold weather conditions, please call, visit, or check on vulnerable family, friends, and neighbours.”
The City advises precautionary measures including dressing in layers of clothing; protecting the face, hands, and ears with gloves, scarves, and hats; drinking warm fluids; and avoiding strenuous exercise.
