Hamilton is lighting the Christmas Tree of Hope this week

The start of the holiday season has arrived, which means an annual tradition is returning to Hamilton for 2024.

The City of Hamilton and the Downtown Hamilton BIA will be lighting the Christmas Tree of Hope this Friday, December 6th at an event taking place in Gore Park from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Plenty of family friendly activities will be happening in the park including photos with Santa himself, meet and greets with fun holiday characters, treats like maple taffy as well as hot chocolate provided by Redchurch Café, and live holiday music.

There will also be free rides on a children’s Christmas carousel from 5 pm to 8 pm, and those free rides will continue daily from December 7th to 20th, 12 pm to 8 pm.

All of this leads to the countdown for the official lighting of the Christmas Tree of Hope, which will begin at around 6:30 pm.

Each year, the Christmas Tree of Hope program helps raise funds in support of children’s charities, and visitors to Gore Park for this free event are encouraged to make a monetary donation that will help make the holiday season brighter for those in need.
