Hamilton named one of the best cities to live in Ontario

Hamilton is standing out as one of the best places to live in Ontario. 

A new list published by real estate company RE/MAX in December 2024 shares their picks for the top five cities in Ontario to live and work. 

Hamilton was one of the cities to make the list, which also includes Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston, and Waterloo for reasons ranging to architecture to arts & culture to nature to industry and other quality of life factors.

“Compared to Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver, Hamilton is relatively more affordable in terms of housing,” reads the feature on the RE/MAX website. 

“The city also offers excellent schools and a thriving economy. It is a relatively newer city than Toronto but still has a strong sense of community and a small-town-like feel. Several parks, hiking trails, and outdoor recreational activities exist in Hamilton.” 

RE/MAX acknowledges that strong demand has lifted real estate prices in recent years, but notes that there are multiple options for homebuying in the city beyond detached homes including townhouses and condominiums.
