Hamilton restaurant and bar Koi is closing after 20 years

A longstanding restaurant and bar in Hamilton’s Hess Village is closing its doors after 20 years in business.

Koi, located at 27 Hess Street South, has long been a Hamilton nightlife spot known for seafood, steak, cocktails, and live events in partnership with neighbouring nightclub Sizzle.

The restaurant even went through a facelift in 2023, rebranding as Koi Seafood House and promising an elevated menu of seafood dishes and beyond.

However, after two decades in Hamilton, Koi has freshly shared the news that their last day in business will be October 31st, 2024.

“We are immensely grateful for the countless memories, friendships, and moments of joy we’ve shared with all of you,” wrote Koi on social media. “Your unwavering support and patronage have made this journey truly special, and we can’t thank you enough for being part of our family.”

Ahead of Koi’s closure at the end of October, the restaurant will continue to host a series of special events to say goodbye in style. Locals can follow them on Instagram for updates.

As of now, Sizzle – Koi’s sister spot – remains open.
