Hamilton restaurant Berkeley North has received multiple accolades since opening its doors in 2016, and it can now add a recognition from the legendary and prestigious Michelin Guide to the list.
The Michelin Guide – which has highlighted the best of the best in global cuisine for over a century – freshly released its 2024 picks for exceptional food spots around the world, and Berkeley North was the only Hamilton restaurant to receive a nod.
In fact, the popular King William dining spot earned a Bib Gourmand status: a level of recognition that highlights quality cuisine at reasonable prices.
Michelin has awarded a star to four new restaurants in its Toronto guide — but three of them aren’t in the city at all.

“In downtown Hamilton, this restaurant has carved out its place as one of the city’s most popular destinations,” writes the Michelin Guide.
“Exposed red brick, dangling greenery, and a garage door that opens to the patio make for a come-as-you-are atmosphere. The menu is nicely curated, with cooking that takes its cues from across the globe.”
This honour makes Berkeley North one of the only Hamilton restaurants to ever be singled out by the Michelin Guide, the other being Dundas’ fine dining experience Quatrefoil which received a recommendation this year.
