Well ahead of the holiday season, Hamilton’s annual Santa Claus Parade has announced a big change for 2024.
Though the parade has historically been hosted in and around Hamilton’s downtown core, organizers have shared the news that the 2024 event will take place on the Hamilton Mountain instead.
The news was shared on the Santa Claus Parade’s website, explaining that the decision was made due to ‘changes in the downtown core and the coming work for the LRT.’

It’s a reason that indicates this may be the new route for the Santa Claus Parade for the foreseeable future after largely taking place in the downtown core for decades.
The new route will begin at Upper Sherman and Acadia Drive, then heading north on Upper Sherman to Lime Ridge Road and west to Lime Ridge Mall, travelling down the backside of the mall’s parking lot before ending in its northeast corner.
The change in route also comes with a change in time. This year’s parade will take place on November 16th at 2 pm in order to coordinate some parade-related events at Lime Ridge Mall. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
