Hamilton splash pads are reopening on Friday

The children of Hamilton can rejoice as the city plans to turn on the local splash pads on Friday.

This is perfect timing as summer weather is starting to become the regular and sunny, hot days are expected for the forthcoming weekend.

As the city enters Phase Two of reopening, almost all of the 68 splash pads located in parks around Hamilton will be switched on tomorrow.

Hamilton public health guidelines are still in effect while visiting the splash pads. Visitors must remain two metres away from others who are not within their social circle as well as not having gatherings larger than 10 people. The city also encourages people to regularly wash or sanitize their hands, and wear face coverings when possible.

City workers have also started work preparing to open 10 out of 14 of Hamilton’s indoor and outdoor pools, which are slated for reopening on July 6th.

Pools that are opening include Ancaster Lions Outdoor, Coronation Outdoor Pool,  Dundas Driving Park, H.G Brewster Pool, Huntington Park Recreation Centre, Pool Jimmy Thompson Pool, Ryerson Recreation Centre, Sir Winston Churchill Recreation Centre, Stoney Creek Recreation Centre, and Westmount Recreation Centre.

The city’s outdoor pools Birge, Green Acres, Inch Park, and Walker will reopen the week of July 13th.

As of Friday, Hamilton will officially be in Phase Two of the province’s regional plan to reopen with more businesses and public spaces welcoming visitors for the first time since March.
