A newer Hamilton restaurant that took a modern street food approach to Indian cuisine has sadly closed its doors.
Chaska Indian Street Food first opened at 4 Newton Avenue in Westdale Village in fall of 2023, building on multiple other successful locations of this small Canadian fast-casual franchise.
Visitors were treated to a menu of flavourful Indian street eats from customizable kathi rolls and naan rolls to hearty curry bowls to loaded poutines to fusion dishes to breakfast bites and beyond.
However, with nothing in the way of a formal announcement, Chaska’s first and only Hamilton location closed its doors this fall, with the business now listed as ‘Permanently Closed’ on Google.
It wasn’t long before another restaurant venture moved into the 4 Newton Avenue space: The Hungry Donkey, which promises authentic Greek street food.
Those who still want to try Chaska Indian Street Food can visit their other locations in Toronto, Ajax, Oakville, Waterloo, Peterborough, Mississauga, and North York.
