Hamilton spot for Thai rolled ice cream closes its doors

A Hamilton favourite for a unique kind of ice cream treat has sadly closed its shop.

Diced Ice was located at 129 Locke Street South and has been serving up tempting Thai rolled ice cream creations since they opened in Summer 2022.

Thai rolled ice cream sees a liquid cream mixture poured onto a cold flattop surface where it freezes into a fresh, thin layer of ice cream and is scraped into layered rolls with a metal spatula.

Those ice cream rolls are then loaded with toppings like sauces, fresh fruits, candy, chocolate, cookie pieces, and beyond.

Sadly, just shy of three years in their vibrant Locke Street ice cream shop, Diced Ice has shared the news that they’ve closed their brick & mortar operation effective immediately.

“We can’t thank the community enough for the support and welcoming us here,” said Diced Ice in a brief announcement post on social media.

Thankfully, this isn’t the end of the business for good. Diced Ice will be pivoting to a more nomadic operation, popping up at festivals and appearing in Hamilton throughout the summer.
