Hamilton students can get free formal wear through Prom Project Hamilton

Prom Project Hamilton is a free pop-up event that gives elementary and secondary students the chance to select new, gently used, up-cycled, and vintage formal wear free of charge in order to attend an upcoming graduation, prom, or other milestone events.

Students will be expected to provide the school they attend and their grade upon arrival on April 4th and May 2nd. The first outfit students select is free of charge. Additional outfits will be made available with the donation of $20 per outfit to Prom Project Hamilton.

The event will take place at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School between 9 am and 2 pm on each date. Other services that will be available at Prom Project Hamilton are hair styling, barbering, personal shopping, and make-up artists.

Not only is it a great opportunity for students to look stylish for prom, but it’s also a great chance for others who have bulging wardrobes to donate some well-loved wares.

Prom Project is accepting donations of new, gently used, up-cycled, and vintage clothing to various locations around the city. Donations can be made during regular store hours of the location as late as March 31st

Volunteers are also needed for both events. People who are interested can sign up to volunteer on the Prom Project Hamilton website. They are currently looking for personal shoppers, change room attendants, inventory coordinators, seamstresses, hair stylists, barbers, and make-up artists.
