Hamilton drivers who regularly make use of The Lincoln Alexander Parkway may need to be prepared to make alternate route arrangements for the next few days.
That’s because the city is closing the Linc’s on and off ramps at Upper Wentworth Street in the evenings starting today – Monday, October 28th – from 9 pm to 6 am.
The closure will facilitate some maintenance work for road surfacing and will occur over four consecutive nights weather permitting, beginning with tonight.
Starting Monday, October 28, the City of Hamilton will close the Lincoln Alexander Parkway on and off ramps at Upper Wentworth St over four consecutive nights from 9pm – 6am for road surfacing work.

“The scope of the work includes milling and paving the roadway (overnight) and installing concrete sidewalks and curbs (from 7 am to 5 pm),” reads a release from the city.
“Traffic on Upper Wentworth Street will remain open but will be reduced to one lane in each direction during night operations.”
The city advises drivers to account for potential traffic delays as this work is completed. HSR transit routes 25 Upper Wentworth, 26 Upper Wellington, and 43 Stone Church will operate their regular routes, but transit users are advised to allow for extra travel time in the event of delays.
