Hamilton under snowfall warning, 15-20 cm expected

Keep the shovels on standby, because Hamilton is set to see a substantial amount of snowfall today.

An updated weather advisory from Environment Canada is forecasting significant snowfall throughout Wednesday, January 25th, beginning late Wednesday morning and ending in the very early morning on Thursday.

The total snowfall is expected to reach 15 to 20 centimetres; an upgrade from the 10 to 15 centimetres originally forecast earlier this week.

Environment Canada warns of impacts from the snowstorm including reduced visibility in heavy snow, difficult travelling conditions, and the potential for isolated power outages.

It is advised that locals be prepared to adjust their driving with changing road conditions, and be aware of quickly changing travel conditions.

Updates on the storm can be followed through Environment Canada, and by checking out the #ONstorm hashtag on Twitter.
