An annual holiday tradition returns to Hamilton this week.
The lighting of the Christmas Tree of Hope in Gore Park will be taking place this Friday, December 2nd from 5 pm to 7 pm, ringing in the holiday season in festive fashion.
Hosted by the Downtown Hamilton BIA, this free and family-friendly event will feature live music by Vili V, the chance to visit with Santa, maple taffy to snack on, and free rides on the Paratrooper: a carnival ride that looks like an angular Ferris Wheel.

But the main centrepiece of the event, of course, is the ceremonial lighting of the massive Christmas Tree of Hope that will remain on display in Gore Park throughout the holiday season.
In the spirit of giving, donations to the Children’s Fund will also be accepted during the event by texting DONATE to 30333 or by calling 905-521-2310.
Those who cannot attend in person will be able to enjoy the lighting of the Christmas Tree of Hope in a live broadcast on Cable 14 from 6 pm to 6:30 pm.
