Hamilton’s Arkells win best group at the 2021 Juno Awards

Hamilton rock band Arkells is having a bangin’ year.

On top of drops of new music and a some freshly announced new dates in 2022 for their massive annual concert event The Rally, this gang of rockers – led by charismatic frontman Max Kerman – just took home the award for Best Group at the 2021 Juno Awards.

The band beat out fellow nominees Half Moon Run, The Reklaws, The Glorious Sons, and Loud Luxury for the honour.

The Juno Awards are Canada’s equivalent to the Grammys, honouring the work and achievements of exceptional music artists in the Canadian arts landscape.

Arkells has been pretty highly decorated at the Junos over the last decade: this is the band’s fifth time winning Best Group since 2012, alongside other honours such as four wins for Best Rock Album and a win for Breakthrough Group earlier in their career in 2010.

A week ago, the Hamiltonian rockers also dropped their sticky new single All Roads, a propulsive, windows-down summer banger which brings some serious ‘80s vibes.

The track was accompanied by a playful video shot entirely using a drone at Hamilton’s famous Devil’s Punchbowl, with shots swooping in and out of the iconic falls and surrounding greenery before landing again on the bandmates as they drive, walk, and cycle around joyously.
