Hamilton’s iconic Around the Bay Race is making its mighty return for 2025 this weekend.
The 30k road race is the oldest of its kind in North America, dating back to 1894 and annually drawing thousands of runners from near and far to participate.
The 2025 iteration takes place on Sunday, March 30th, with runners tackling the loop around Hamilton Harbour with their choice of total distance including options for 10k, 15k, and 30k races.
Locals should expect traffic and transit delays on the day of the Around the Bay Race, with road closures occurring on stretches of James Street North, Dundurn Street, York Boulevard, Bay Street, Burlington Street, Beach Boulevard, and more.
Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) transit routes will also be impacted by detours and delays; those planning to use public transit on Sunday, March 30 should plan accordingly.
A full list of transportation impacts in Hamilton for the race can be found on the city website.
