The Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) has officially implemented changes to bus routes, schedules, and fare for 2024.
As of September 1st, the HSR is increasing bus service on evenings and weekends as part of the city’s Ten Year Local Transit Strategy, which endeavours to enhance Hamilton’s public transit infrastructure.
These enhancements include Sunday and holiday service on Routes 16 Ancaster, 18 Waterdown Mountaineer, myRide Waterdown, and 51 University; plus increased late night service on Routes 3 Cannon, 10 B-Line, 16 Ancaster, 18 Waterdown Mountaineer, myRide, and 51 University.

Additionally, there will be increased service frequency on Sundays on Routes 3 Cannon, 4 Bayfront, 16 Ancaster, 22 Upper Ottawa, 23 Upper Gage, 24 Upper Sherman, 25 Upper Wentworth, 26 Upper Wellington, 27 Upper James , 34 Upper Paradise, 41 Mohawk, and 43 Stone Church.
With these changes also comes an increase in transit fare: PRESTO users will now pay an additional 10 cents per trip, increasing from $2.70 to $2.80. Cash fare remains unaffected at $3.50.
