Hamilton’s Keddy Access Trail now home to six stunning murals

Several Hamilton artists have added their creative touches to the otherwise utilitarian Keddy Access Trail.

Completed in 2020, the 2.7 km trail that runs the length of the Claremont Access is a prime pedestrian route providing access for walkers and cyclists travelling between the Hamilton Mountain and lower city.

Earlier this year, a call for submissions was released targeting Hamilton-area visual artists to present proposals for mural art intended to line the Keddy Access Trail. A total of 22 artists submitted, with six being chosen by a jury of Hamilton residents and local artists.

The selected artists and arts collectives chosen for the Keddy Access Trail Public Art Project include Dan Bergeron and Gabriel Specter of Fauxreel, Clear Eyes Collective, Nereo Zorro, Janet Macpherson, SOWL, and Kayla Whitney.

Their distinct, singular, and stunning artwork has now been painted along the Keddy Access Trail, giving the trail a dynamic visual flair while celebrating the work of our homegrown artists.

See more about the Keddy Access Trail Public Art Project and the selected artists on the city website.
