Hamilton’s Mum Show will be free admission for a second year

Following a successful, if scaled-back run in 2020, the Hamilton Fall Garden & Mum Show is making a comeback for 2021 and it will once again be totally free to attend.

The annual autumn event, which is usually offered for a modest admission fee, was open to attendees for free in 2020 after the city decided to subsidize tickets in hopes of creating a bright spot at the end of a difficult year.

Now entering its 101st year, The Mum Show will once again be free to attend courtesy of a motion passed by city council as a gesture amid the continues impacts of the pandemic.

Running 10 am to 6 pm daily from October 22nd to 31st at the Gage Park Greenhouse, the theme for this year’s Mum Show is ‘A Walk Down Memory Lane,’ paying tribute to over a century of gorgeous floral displays.

Though the event is free, reservations are encouraged in advance via the city website due to capacity limits. A booking grants access to the Mum Show for 2 hours maximum, and public health guidelines – such as mask-wearing and physical distancing – will be in effect.

Additionally, attendees ages 12 and up will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 alongside a valid photo ID in order to access the event.
