Last week, the Ontario government expanded eligibility for fourth doses of the COVID-19 vaccines to residents ages 18 and up who received a third dose at least 5 months ago.
As of July 14th, Hamilton residents in that category are now able to book their fourth doses through city-run vaccine clinics, pharmacies, and healthcare providers.

To book an appointment with the city, residents can use the online booking tool via the city website or call the public health COVID-19 vaccine hotline at 905-974-9848, option 7.
Locals can also book their appointments through a participating pharmacy, including Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, and many independently run pharmacies.
Widened eligibility for fourth booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccines comes as the province faces a seventh pandemic wave driven by the BA.5 variant, which has shown to be considerably more evasive of immunity derived from infection or vaccination.
Since many eligible Hamilton residents received their third shots at least 6 months ago, fourth shots are now available for those who want an extra boost of protection against severe illness as new COVID-19 cases climb.
Receiving a vaccination now will not preclude individuals from receiving a bivalent, Omicron-specific vaccine later this year.
