A unique and thrilling show that combines electric Irish dance with astonishing magic and grand illusion is coming to Hamilton.
Celtic Illusion has made Hamilton’s FirstOntario Concert Hall a stop on its North American tour, produced by Annerin Productions and WEXFORDHOUSE and starring Anthony Street (Lord of the Dance), who also created and choreographed the show.
Featuring a large cast of internationally acclaimed dancers – including performers from famous Irish dance spectables like Riverdance and Lord of the Dance – Celtic Illusion has been a hit since it was first staged in 2011, playing to sold-out houses all over Australia and a past sold-out tour in Canada.

On top of being a showcase of some of the world’s most virtuosic tap dancing, Celtic Illusion complements that rhythmic Irish dance with stunning stage magic and grand illusions; combining two of creator Anthony Street’s great loves in the world of performance.
“Before I was a dancer, my great passion was magic and illusion, but when I worked with Lord of the Dance for four years beginning when I was 20, magic got pushed to the side,” says Street. “When I decided to create this show in Australia, it dawned on me that I should combine my two passions to give audiences a new sensory experience.”
In addition to its exciting blend of dance and magic, the show also features a new soundtrack composed by Angela Little, who co-wrote the score of Baz Luhrmann’s film Australia; Steve Skinner, who has worked as an arranger and producer for artists like Celine Dion and Stevie Wonder; and Michael Londra, Emmy nominee for his work as a singer and producer.
Jeff Parry, producer at Annerin Productions, remarks on the excitement of bringing back a show so joyous after two years where live performance was more or less shuttered due to the pandemic.
“We are excited to, once again, share this beautiful show with audiences as we embark on our 2022 tour, and it’s just the tonic necessary after the past two years,” says Parry. “We have been humbled that Celtic Illusion has really connected with people, leading to sold out houses and rapturous standing ovations, and we look forward to coming to a city near you.”
Celtic Illusion hits the stage at FirstOntario Concert Hall in Hamilton on April 24th as part of its 2022 North American Tour. For more information and tickets, visit their website here.
