LCBO stores across Ontario are reopening on Tuesday after Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) workers ratified a collective agreement with the crown agency.
The result means the strike has officially ended as of 12:01 am on Monday, July 22nd, with a full government ratification of the agreement to follow and LCBO employees returning to work beginning Tuesday morning.

“We again thank the negotiating teams for LCBO and OPSEU, as well as the mediator, for their work in reaching an agreement that is fair for our unionized employees and helps the LCBO operate efficiently and effectively for Ontarians in a changing marketplace,” reads a release from the LCBO.
“We thank our customers for their understanding and patience as we make the necessary adjustments to return to the service levels expected from us.”
This strike represents the first in the LCBO’s history and came as a result of OSPEU members and the LCBO failing to reach an initial agreement, with a noteworthy issue being the impacts the Ford government’s efforts to expand alcohol sales in Ontario.
