Local coffee roaster opens a gorgeous new cafe in Hamilton

One of the best local coffee roasters just opened a beautiful new café in Downtown Hamilton.

Detour Coffee Roasters is best known for their popular café in Downtown Dundas, which serves up coffee and espresso alongside a menu of sandwiches, salads, and sweets.

What makes Detour stand out is that they also roast their own coffee beans in-house, hand-selecting quality varietals from coffee regions around the world like Colombia, Brazil, Peru, and Costa Rica.

With the enduring success of their existing Dundas location, Detour Coffee has now taken over the café space at 175 John Street South which previously housed Salty Espresso and, before that, Pinecone Coffee.

At this new Downtown Hamilton café, Detour will be serving up the coffee and espresso they’re known for while offering fresh pastries by Dear Grain Bakery, grab-and-go bites from Stipley Kitchen, and some boozy fare like local beer and wine.

With its grand opening on May 24th, the new Detour Café is ready to serve up some fresh cups and hit the ground running. Check them out at 175 John Street South to get your first taste!
