Hamilton’s metal fans will be excited to hear that the legendary thrash metal band Megadeth will be bringing their Crush the World Tour to FirstOntario Centre on Monday, May 8th, 2023.

The show will be the first Ontario date of the tour, followed by an Ottawa date at the Canadian Tire Centre the following day.

The band will be supported by opening acts Bullet For My Valentine – a Welsh metalcore band, and ONI – a Canadian progressive metal band.

“We cannot wait to bring Megadeth’s Crush The World tour to the Great White North,” said Dave Mustaine, Megadeth’s co-founder, frontman, and primary songwriter. “I’m still riding high from our sold out Budokan show with Marty Friedman last week, but there is no letting up and it’s your turn, Canada. Get ready!”

On February 27th, Megadeth performed for the first time to a sold-out crowd at the world-famous Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Billed as “They Only Come Out At Night”, the concert was also a global livestream event. It included a special appearance by Marty Friedman, who was Megadeth’s lead guitarist from 1990 to 2000.

Last September, Megadeth released their highly anticipated sixteenth studio album The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! to both fan and critical acclaim.

The album debuted at the top of the charts during its first week of sales, taking the No. 1 slot on Top Album Sales, Top Current Albums Sales, Top Rock & Alternative Album, Top Rock Albums, and Top Hard Rock Albums, and the No. 3 spot on the Billboard 200.

The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! is the highest charting Megadeth album of all time around the world, also notching No. 1 in Finland, No. 2 in Australia, Poland, Switzerland, and Scotland, No. 3 in the UK, and more.

They also received their first GRAMMY® award for Best Metal Performance for the song “We’ll Be Back” from The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! They have received 13 GRAMMY® nominations throughout their career.

Megadeth have unleashed the promotional videos for their latest album as part of an epic, multi-part short film divided into five chapters. The first chapter, “We’ll Be Back: Chapter I”, premiered on June 2022.

Within the first hour of release, the album’s debut single and video were met with overwhelming fan reaction, resulting in the band trending on Twitter.

So far, all five chapters combined have culminated in an astounding 10 million+ views to date, and the number continues to grow. The final chapter, “Killing Time: Chapter V” was released last December.

Don’t miss your chance to see the legendary thrash metal band Megadeth at the height of their commercial and critical success live in Hamilton with special guests Bullet For My Valentine and ONI!
